Cocurricular Activities
Waterloo Junior High School
Band
Band is open to students who have chosen to select an instrument, take the lessons provided at school, practice at home to improve their skills, and want to represent Waterloo Junior High School in the Fine Arts. A sixth grade band and the seventh/eighth grade band will play for assemblies and some basketball games. Students will learn how to march, participate in contests, and give concerts. Commitment is important when selecting this class as an elective.

Chorus
There are two separate chorus periods for sixth through eighth grade students. The Sixth Grade Chorus rehearses during 8th hour and performs as one ensemble. The Seventh and Eighth Grade Chorus rehearses during 5th hour and performs as one ensemble. There are no auditions required for the above choruses.
The Junior Concert Choir provides students another performance opportunity by performing at concerts, basketball games and various school functions. The Junior Concert Choir is open to students by audition and provides students with opportunities to improve their musicianship as well as their vocal technique.
Drama Club
Any student who enjoys acting, singing, painting, drawing, sewing, typing, organizing, building, or running sound and lighting equipment should enjoy Drama Club.

Waterloo Senior High School
Drama Club
Advisor - Mr. Rickerty ~ This club is meant to create an active and intelligent interest in dramatics among students. Members will produce school plays in the fall and spring of the year.
FFA
Advisors - Mr. McDermott and Mrs. McDermott ~ The primary purpose of the FFA is the development of agricultural leadership, cooperation and citizenship. Membership is open to students enrolled in agriculture courses. Activities include both team and individual competitions related to agriculture.

German Club
Advisor - Ms. Ware ~ The purpose of this club is to stimulate interest in German language and culture. It is open to students who are enrolled in a German class. Activities include films, trips and craft fairs.
Math Team
Advisors - Mr. McDermott and Mrs. McDermott ~ This team is for students enrolled in honors math courses. Practices are held to prepare for interscholastic math contests.
Music - Band
Director - Mr. Mullins ~ The band participates in a number of group contests, parades, marching competitions and concerts. Members may participate in solo and ensemble contests. The band performs at home football and basketball games. Band members may audition for the W.H.S. Jazz Band.
Music - Chorus
Director - Mrs. Munsell ~ Students who like to sing may participate in solo, ensemble and group contests, as well as several concerts throughout the year. Chorus members may audition for the Concert Choir.
Science Club
Advisors - Mr. Halleran ~ The aims of this club are to increase knowledge, skill and appreciation of science, and to provide service to the school and community. Membership is open to students who have completed a science course with at least a "C" average. Activities include mini-courses, projects and field trips.

Student practices Spanish |
Spanish Club
Advisor - Mrs. Jones ~ The purpose of this club is to stimulate interest in Spanish language and culture. Membership is open to students currently enrolled in a Spanish class, or students who have previously taken two years of Spanish.
Speech Team
Advisor - Mr. Rickert ~ This team is for students interested in further developing their skill in public speaking and interpretation through participation in competitive speech events. |
