Members of the Board of Education are elected at-large by the voters in the Waterloo Community Unit School District No. 5. No more than three may be elected from any one township.

The regular board meetings will be held in the Library of the Waterloo High School, 200 Bellefontaine Drive, Waterloo, IL 62298. Meetings are held on the third Monday of each month except *when a regular board meeting falls on a holiday, the Board of Education reserves the right to reschedule the regular board meeting. Special board meetings and committee meetings are held at various locations. Public Participation at Board of Education meetings and Positions to the Board
Individuals appearing before the Board are expected to follow these guidelines:
- Notify Superintendent (939-3453) by Wednesday prior to Board meeting
- .Address the Board only at appropriate times as indicated on the agenda.Identify him or herself and be brief.
- Comments should be limited to 5 minutes.The Board President may shorten or lengthen a person's opportunity to speak.
- The President may deny a person who has previously addressed the board on the same subject within the past two months.
- The President has the authority to determine procedural matters.Petitions or written correspondences shall be presented to the Board at the next regularly scheduled meeting.
