Hello!
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself, as I will be your child’s kindergarten teacher this year. My name is Lauren Schulmeister, and I grew up in Waterloo. I, too, attended W. J. Zahnow Elementary School and graduated from WHS. Go Bulldogs! I am so fortunate to have the opportunity to teach in such an amazing school district.
Let me tell you a little more about me. First of all, my friends and family are of utmost importance in my life. I love spending time with them, and I do so every chance I get. I have a dog named Bocephus, who I love dearly. My parents, Robert (“Shoe”) and Terre Schulmeister, and my sister, Erin (who also teaches kindergarten here at Zahnow), live here in Waterloo too. I love country music, and I absolutely love to sing along loudly with my favorite songs, especially in my car where no one can hear me! My favorite food would have to be Cracker Barrel’s dumplins. Four-wheeling and hunting are some of my favorite things to do outside of school. Also, you will probably find a smile on my face most of the time, as I am generally a very happy person.
In my career, I have met many amazing children and made many wonderful memories. I look forward to getting to know you and your amazing child and making many more wonderful memories this year. If you have any questions or suggestions for me, or would just like to get to know me better, please feel free to talk to me at any time. I also would love to have you help out at school if you feel compelled. Your child will appreciate this too! Just let me know if you are interested.
