Make-up Procedure:
The number of days you miss is the number of days you have to make up an
assignment. If you miss a test, quiz, or any other graded material, check with me on your first day back to see what needs to be made up or turned in. Any unexcused absences will result in a “0” for work to be completed or turned in that day.
Extra Help Procedures:
If you need help of any kind, please let me know so we can set up a time. I am usually at school by 7:30 in the morning, or you can make an appointment to see me at any other time during the day.
Classroom Expectations:
- Bring all your materials every day unless otherwise told (calculator, textbook, notes, pen or pencil). Pen or pencil is fine for notes, but bring a pencil for all exams and quizzes.
- Be in this room when the bell rings. If it gets to the point where people wander the room, we'll resort to being in your seat. Three tardies per SEMESTER results in a detention with me and a call home. Each successive tardy results in a referral and detentions through the office. In addition, you will lose 1 point on the 25 point checks for each day you are late.
- DON’T CHEAT. Cheating of any kind results in a “0” for the work. This includes copying homework.
- Be courteous to EVERYONE. Inappropriate language results in an immediate referral.
- If you’d like to talk, raise your hand. Be prepared to discuss problems at any time during class. Just because you haven’t raised your hand doesn’t mean you won’t be asked to participate.
- Don’t bring soda or candy to class. You may be permitted to eat candy or drink soda at certain times, but this is my decision. Don’t just bring it to class and start eating.
- Don’t throw anything during class. If you have something to throw away, get up and do it.
- If any of these rules are violated, consequences listed in the room will be followed.
Notebooks:
A math only notebook is required for this class. You can plan to take notes virtually every day as well. Over the year, you can plan to use a 200-page notebook. Get one. For each day of notes, begin with the date and section number. Keep the notebook neat and write down any notes, sample problems, or homework solutions. Write down EVERYTHING!
Notebooks will be checked some way each quarter. I will either collect them or give a notebook quiz. This quiz may ask about sample problems, homework solutions, what section we did on a certain date, etc. If you miss a day, get the notes from someone ASAP. This is any easy way to help your grade each quarter. If you’re in class each day, you may as well take the notes.
Classroom Discipline Plan:
RULES: 1) Follow all given directions.
2) Bring all materials to class.
3) Do not interrupt me or your fellow classmates.
4) Work on all assigned material
5) Respect others and all property.
