About Mrs. Glessner

I have been teaching Pre-K at Zahnow since the program began in 1993.  Prior to that I worked with the Early Childhood Special Education Programs at the Perandoe Special Education District for 14 years.  My bachelor's degree is from SIU-Carbondale and my master's degree from SIU-Edwardsville.

 A life-long resident of Waterloo, I graduated from Waterloo High School, as did both of my children.  John, my husband, owns and runs Petri Insurance Agency here in Waterloo, and is a member of the Waterloo Optimist club and the Waterloo Fire Department.  We are "empty nesters" with two grown children.  Andrew, our oldest, is employed by the City of Waterloo and lives nearby.  He is also a fireman and Optimist!  Abby, our daughter, and her husband Kyle recently moved back to the area when Kyle completed an enlistment in the military.  Abby has a degree in Early Childhood Education and is beginning her career as a kindergarten teacher.   Kyle is currently a student at SIU-E and is working with John in the insurance business.   I enjoy being a member of the Board of Trustees of the Morrison-Talbott Library and play flute in the Waterloo Municipal band.  Come listen to us at the Courthouse Square summer Tuesday evenings at 8:00 PM!
