About Mrs. Huffman...

          Hi! My name is Rachel Huffman. I grew up in Waterloo where I went to school from kindergarten through high school.  I received my degree in elementary education from Millikin University in 2005.  After graduation I returned home to Waterloo and began my career as a fourth grade teacher at Rogers. After one year of teaching fourth grade, I moved to 3rd grade for two years.Now, I'm back in fourth grade, and this year makes my 7th year here.  In addition to being a teacher, I am also a junior high girls' track coach. 

          I will be married to my husband, Larry, for five years in January. We were blessed with our first daughter, Lydia, in September. After our wedding, I moved to Maryville, Il. because he was a high school math teacher and coach in Carlinville. Fortunately, he now works at WHS. Therefore, we are hoping to sell our house and move to Waterloo. We are both passionate distance runners. I have run the Chicago Marathon one time and look forward to running more in the future. 

          I feel very fortunate to be back in the Waterloo school system working with such a wonderful group of teachers and students.  I have enjoyed every year here and look forward to many more!
