Algebra Part B

Materials Needed:

3 ring binder or folder

Course Description:
Algebra Part B is the second class of a two-year course in algebra I. Much of the first quarter of the course will review and expand on concepts developed in algebra part A. The remainder of the course will continue and explore activities such as solving linear inequalities, polynomials and factoring, quadratic functions, and exponential and radical functions. It is designed to cover an equivalent amount of material as compared with an algebra I course.
Grading Information:
This is an approximate percentage of points for each of the following areas, which may be altered slightly throughout the school year.      
Homework 20%                        Quizzes 20%
Tests 30%                                Projects/Group Work 10%        
Exam 20%
Make-up Assignment Procedure:       
 If you are absent. YOU are responsible for obtaining the notes given that day from another student. This is important because we will be having a notebook quiz each chapter and the questions will come straight out of your notes and examples.       
Assignments can ALWAYS be found on the calendar on the bulletin board. Any worksheets or supplements to the notes can be found in the crate of folders.        
If you are having difficulty with the material cover during your absence, it is YOUR responsibility to come in before or after school to catch up.        
If you score below an 80% on any test you will have the opportunity to retake the test in the library within a week to possibly raise your test grade to an 80%.
Classroom Expectations:      
Respect - All students should respect themselves, their fellow students and Mrs. Nold.       
Use pencil for all math work.        
Do not sleep, throw objects, write on desks, or work on other subjects in my class.        
Be prepared.

Classroom Procedures:
When the bell rings you will be in your seat, with your homework out.
When you finish a test/quiz you have two options 1) Work on something for another class, 2) Sit quietly and do not disturb your fellow classmates.
