About the Teacher

My name is Sarah Harres.  This is my 5th year at Rogers Elementary School and my 7th year teaching special education.  I currently work with the 2nd graders teaching reading, language arts, and math.  Before teaching at Rogers, I taught for one year at Columbia High School and and one year at Valmeyer Junior High.

I grew up in Columbia, where I currently live.  I just recently had a baby boy, Michael, in November of 2011.  He is the love of my life!  I attended college at Millikin University, in Decatur, Illinois, where I received an undergraduate degree in elementary education.  During my first 3 years of teaching, I completed my master's degree at SIUE in special education.  In my free time, I enjoy traveling, cooking, and spending time with friends and family.  I have traveled to France, Spain, Italy, Ireland, England, Mexico, Canada, and parts of the United States.  I would have to say that Paris, France and Barcelona, Spain were my favorites.  Although I have been an eagle most of my life, I have enjoyed joining the bulldog family.

If you ever need to reach me, please don't hesitate to call the school at 939-3454.  If I am unavailable, please leave a message with the office, and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
