Meet Mrs. McRoberts

Welcome to Kindergarten! 

Hi!  My name is Courtney McRoberts.  I have been teaching Kindergarten at W.J. Zahnow for 17 years!  I love working with children, which is why I received my first degree from the University of Missouri in Parks and Recreation.  I think that I thought that I could be a professional camp counselor for the rest of my life!  After moving to Waterloo in 1979, I was a teacher's aide at Zahnow for two years.  I realized that teaching would be the perfect profession for me, so I went back to school at SIU-E  and received my Elementary Education degree.  I've taught third grade, preshool and now, I'm happily in Kindergarten!!!

I was born in Richmond, Virginia and still consider myself "southern" at heart.  I spent most of my life in Springfield, Illinois before going to Mizzou.  I married my college sweetheart, Bob, and we moved to St. Louis where we worked and lived for two years before moving to Waterloo.  I have two grown children, Whitney and Bobby and a granddaughter, Natalie.  I live in the country in a log home built by my husband.  Bob is a contractor working out of St. Louis.
