Pernadoe Special Education District

Waterloo Community Unit School District is part of a cooperative called Perandoe.  Perandoe Special Education District was established in 1969 as a joint agreement cooperative serving the communities of Monroe and Randolph counties in Illinois.  The purpose of the joint agreement is to assure that all children with disabilities aged 3-21, in the bi-county area, receive a free and appropriate education as prescribed by state and federal law.  The cooperating districts are committed to serving all children regardless of the nature and severity of their disability.

Perandoe provides each district with specialized services including special education administrative support, school psychologist services, school social work services, physical and occupational therapy services, and a variety of consultative services.  In addition, Perandoe operates a public day treatment program for students in special education with behavior concerns called the Perandoe Evansville Program.

Perandoe serves the following communities: Chester, Columbia, Coulterville, Prairie du Rocher, Red Bud, Sparta, Steeleville, Valmeyer and Waterloo.
