Cafeteria Information

The Waterloo School District offers both breakfast and lunch on every FULL school day.  Please note that breakfast is NOT served on 1/2 days.

NOTE:  Each school offers low fat/skim milk and 100% fruit juice at each meal. Rogers Elementary offers a garden salad each day with salad bar toppings. Both the High School and the Jr. High School offer a fresh salad bar each day!

School Lunch Program

Our District operates under the School Lunch Program and offers meals to all students.  Meals are also available at a free or at a reduced rate to those families who supply either a Direct Certification letter from the State of Illinois or complete a family application and are found eligible for these benefits.  Applications are available at each school office and from the cafeteria - rms@wcusd5.net.  A new application or letter must be completed each school year and turned into Ruth Shull, Director of Cafeterias - 200 N Rogers St., Waterloo, Il. Reduced price meals are $ .30 for breakfast and $ .40 for lunch at all schools.

Debit System

Each cafeteria operates on a debit system.  Simply deposit any amount onto the students account and he/she has access to that money when entering their personal ID/PIN number at meal time.  Students may bring money into school with them in an envelope that includes their name, ID number, homeroom (if pertinent), date and amount.  It is our preference that students turn this money in prior to lunch so that it may be deposited early and ready for their use during meal service. 

Cafe Prepay

Our district now offers parents the ability to pay online at: cafeprepay.com either with credit card or direct withdraw.  Student accounts may also be monitored from this website - you must have your students ID number to access this information (Zahnow parents will need to contact Ruth Shull - Director or Zahnow's cafeteria to obtain their students 6 digit student ID number as the student use a smaller 3 digit number during meal service).

Students in grades K - 8 are allowed to charge one meal and then asked to deposit money on their account.  Students who have reached their charge limit will be offered a commodity sandwich and a beverage ( milk or juice ) of their choice until a deposit is made.  Students in grades K - 5 will have computer generated letter sent home with them or an email sent when their account nears a zero balance.  This is our vehicle to communicate account information with our parents. 

Adult Meal Pricing

Adult meals prices are the same throughout the district:  $ 1.10 for breakfast and $ 2.25 for lunch.
