General Announcements

Students and staff, thanks to some generous donations, the Head Shave Challenge has reached their goal of $1,000.  You have been awesome! However, the boys basketball staff is upping their goal to $2,000 to donate to Elsa.  You still have time to help.  You can still donate at any home boys basketball game, in the office, or at lunch.  Look for the boys basketball coaches outside the cafeteria this week to add some change, paper bills, or checks to the pot.

Attention Saturday Scholars, the FINAL sign-up is on the door of room D209, please sign-up as soon as you are able. The bus will leave from WHS at 8:15 this week! 

CPR certification cards are in; 1st semester health students, see Mrs. Crawford at lunch.

National FFA Week is next week!! Don't forget to participate in the FFA Spirit Week Dress Up Days:

Monday- Dress like a Teacher

Tuesday - American Pride

Wednesday - Hawaiian

Thursday - College/Career

Friday - FFA Friday: wear blue and gold or FFA apparel

 

ALL students are also welcome to sign up for the following FFA week events in the ag rooms:

Monday- Dodgeball: teams of 8, games start at 6:00

Tuesday - Yoga Night: 5:15 in the library

Thursday: College and Career Fair 5:45, dinner provided

Guidance

Spring College Visits

 

            Murray State Feb. 20th          Illinois Wesleyan Feb. 26th        Quincy University March 2nd

            Truman University March 4th                  SLU March 5th

 

Sign up on the Guidance website if you would like to meet with a representative

 

Any juniors interested in taking the SAT prep class should bring money to guidance by this Friday.

 

Staff Sergeant Wilson, with the Marines, will be here on Friday March 20th to speak with any student that is interested in learning more about the careers the Marines offer. If you would like to speak with them please sign up on the guidance website under college visits.    

 

Athletics

Any freshman, sophomore, or junior interested in trying out for cheerleading next year should pick up a packet in the office.  Tryouts are Saturday, March 7th.

 

Those interested in Boys' Tennis should sign up in the office. Tryouts will be held starting March 3rd from 3 to 5:30 and will continue for the week. Those in a winter sport that cannot make tryouts should notify Coach Ivers on the sign up sheet. You must have a current sports physical on file with the office in order to tryout.
