General Announcements

Students and staff.  We have done a great job so far in helping the basketball team reach their fundraising goals for Elsa.  So far we have collected close to $2,900.  We have a new challenge for you!  If you can get the total amount raised to $3,500 before March 11th, the coaches will shave their heads in the gym during activity period for all to witness.  If you can get the total to $4,000, Anna will join them. Let's do this!

 

Student Athletes, if you have any interest or plans to play at the next level after graduation, please consider attending the Athletic Department's program tonight at 7pm in the auditorium.  Jack Renkens, a national recruiting expert, will be on hand to give his presentation called Recruiting Realities.  Come and learn about the recruiting process and how you can find a place to play in college.

National FFA Week is this week!! Don't forget to participate in the FFA Spirit Week Dress Up Days:

Thursday - College/Career

Friday - FFA Friday: wear blue and gold or FFA apparel

 

ALL students are welcome to sign up for the following FFA week events in the ag rooms:

Seniors: Stop by the table outside of the cafeteria today during 6th hour lunch. You will need to verify the spelling of your name for your diploma.     

WHS FFA is starting a Book Drive this week for Reading Across Waterloo. Please donate children's books to the bins in the English Department. Students will be reading the books to younger students in the district. The book drive goes from now until March 6th

The Opera House Bistro in Red Bud has immediate openings for serving staff and on-call banquet workers.  Come to guidance for more information.

Spring College Visits

Staff Sergeant Wilson, with the Marines, will be here on Friday March 20th to speak with any student that is interested in learning more about the careers the Marines offer. If you would like to speak with them please sign up on the guidance website under college visits.    

Athletics

Any freshman, sophomore, or junior interested in trying out for cheerleading next year should pick up a packet in the office.  Tryouts are Saturday, March 7th.

 

Those interested in Boys' Tennis should sign up in the office. Tryouts will be held starting March 3rd from 3 to 5:30 and will continue for the week. Those in a winter sport that cannot make tryouts should notify Coach Ivers on the sign up sheet. You must have a current sports physical on file with the office in order to tryout.
