In-Person Learning Info & Reminders

Parents/Guardians:

As we approach our return to in-person learning on Wednesday, September 30th, we just wanted to share some important information:

1. Drop-Offs/Pick-Ups- Students may be dropped off beginning at 7:35. Students should report to 1st hour upon arriving to school.  1st hour will begin at 7:55.  6th and 7th grade students should be dropped off  at the North Building. Please pull up to the crosswalk in front of the North Building from either direction on Bellefontaine drive. You may also pull into the parking lot across from the North Building main entrance.  There will be a crossing guard outside in the crosswalk.

6th graders will have temperature checked as they walk in the main entrance of the North Building. 7th graders will turn right prior to walking in the main north entrance and have their temperature checked as they enter door 25. (If you are late to drop off, students must enter in the main entrance on the south end.)

8th graders will be dropped off at the main entrance of the South Building. Please pull up to the end of the median in the middle of Bellefontaine Drive if driving North or the crosswalk at 1st Street and Bellefontaine if driving South. There will be a crossing guard in the crosswalk. 8th grade students will have their temperature checked prior to entering the main entrance of the South Building.

Students can be picked up in the same locations at 12:05.  Please find a parking space either in front of the building or in the lot across from the North Building.  Students could also be picked up behind the gym of the South Building.  Please do not drop-off or pick-up in the Circle Drive as that is for busses.

2. Miine Health App- Please sign up for the Miine Health App and certify that your child is symptom free every day before school.  If you forget to do this, your child will miss a good part of their first hour class in order to get certified by the nurse.

3. Return to School Survey- If you have not done so, please complete the survey regarding returning to school.

4. Quick Reference Sheet- Please refer to our quick reference sheet for important information about returning to school.

5. Busses- The bus company is working on route times.  We will be updating bus numbers in Skyward. In most cases, students will be on the same bus as in the past.  Letters will not be mailed to families from the bus company this year.  We will be putting routes and times on our website when we receive the information from the bus company.  Busses will begin arriving behind the building between 7:35-7:40.

6th grade students riding the bus in the morning will enter through door 17 behind the building.  A staff member will greet them to take their temperature.

7th grade students riding the bus in the morning should enter through door 15 behind the building. A staff member will greet them to take their temperature.

8th grade students riding the bus in the morning should enter through the rear doors of the South Gym.  A staff member will greet them to take their temperature.

6. New Attendance Check-In Time for Remote Learning- Beginning September 30, all students who are remote learning for a particular day will need to check in to all of their classes by 12:00 noon.  Assignments will still have due dates and times that will allow for some flexibility.

7. No In-Person or Remote Learning September 23- There will be no in-person or remote learning on Wednesday, September 23.  Teachers will be using this day to continue to plan for our return to in-person learning on September 30.

8.  No Neck-Warmer Masks Allowed- Per CDC guidance, students will not be permitted to wear neck-warmer masks aka gators or buffs.

9. Mid-Quarter Grades- We have passed the middle of the first quarter.  Please check your child’s grades in Skyward.  If your child is struggling with any class, please contact the teacher.  Students who are already in serious trouble with their grades will be receiving another email regarding this soon.

10. Wear Tennis Shoes for PE- While students will not be dressing out for PE, they will need to wear shoes appropriate for physical activity.  Students will be outside for PE weather permitting.

11. No Late Start Mondays - In the past, we have had a late start schedule on Mondays.  We will not do that at this time. Every day will begin at 7:55.

Thank you and we look forward to seeing all of you soon!
