WJHS Tours and Opportunity to Comment Regarding Renovation or New Construction of Waterloo Junior High

Posted Date: 11/04/25 (8:31 AM)

Waterloo Community, Parents, Faculty, and Staff:

The Board of Education would like anyone who is interested to tour Waterloo Junior High School to see first hand some of the reasons behind the necessary planning for renovation or new construction.  The urgency for this is due to our heating and cooling system that is in need of full replacement which will come at a significant cost.  Assuming the new HVAC system should last 25-30 years, we have looked at all other expenses that will likely occur either as part of this project or during the life of the HVAC system.

We plan to open WJHS for a tour on Thursday evening, November 6, from 5:30-6:30 PM, and again on Saturday, November 8, from 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM.  Our architect, from FGMA, has completed an analysis and presented this to our Board of Education at our September meeting.  This presentation is accessible in the link below that also will give everyone an opportunity to provide any feedback you would like to offer the Board of Education before they make this decision.

Please "Click Here" to access the FGMA presentation and provide feedback to the Waterloo CUSD #5 Board of Education.  Your comments and questions will be appreciated.

Sincerely,

Brian Charron
Superintendent
