Parents and Caregivers of the Waterloo Community

Families in our community have been impacted by the government shutdown in a variety of ways. If you have been affected by recent changes and are in need of assistance please explore the resources listed below or reach out to your child's school social worker. We would love to help connect you with available resources in our community. 

Updates on Illinois’ Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

Visit Illinois Application for Benefits Eligibility page to manage or apply for benefits. For the latest information on SNAP payments and distribution, please visit snapfederalimpact.illinois.gov. This site also has links to community resources, through their Food Connections link. 

Free and Reduced Price Meals

If your income has changed due to the shut down or for any other reason, you may now qualify for free or reduced price meals. Fill out an application here (scroll to the bottom for eligibility requirements and the application). Please print and turn in applications to Ruth Mason- Cafeteria Director at Rogers Elementary School - 200 N Rogers Street - Waterloo, Illinois, 62298.

Waterloo would not be what it is today without the support of our community. All of the food pantries in the area are accepting donations and would welcome your support. If you are able please contribute to the food drives at your child’s school. Each food drive is benefitting local food pantries.
