General Announcements

Students and staff.  We have done a great job so far in helping the basketball team reach their fundraising goals for Elsa.  If you can get the total amount raised to $3,500 before March 11th, the coaches will shave their heads in the gym during activity period for all to witness.  If you can get the total to $4,000, Anna will join them. Let's do this!

 

WHS FFA is having a Book Drive for Reading Across Waterloo. Please donate children's books to the bins in the English department.  Students will be reading the books to younger students in the district. The book drive goes from until March 6th

Attention Class of 2023, don't forget to turn in your Coffee Beanery fundraiser forms to your science teacher by THIS Friday, March 6th.  Remember, payment MUST accompany the order form

The Library is celebrating Read Across America Week by having a few drawings throughout the week. Every time you check out or renew a book, you will be given a ticket to write your name on and place it in a bucket in the library. Tickets will be drawn for prizes as the week progresses

Congratulations to FFA members who won District Proficiencies last night!

These students will advance on to the state contest on March 21.

 Prom 2020 : Dreams do come true in New Orleans!!

Prom is April 18th at the Falls in Columbia, IL from 7:00-11:00.  Tickets are available during 6th hour lunch on Tuesday, March 24th through Thursday, March 26th.  Tickets are $55 each and must be purchased BEFORE Friday, April 3rd.  Lunch ticket sales must be cash or check (made to WHS).

Sign up on the Guidance website if you would like to meet with a representative

 

SWIC will be here on Friday to administer the Accuplacer. Accuplacer is SWIC's placement assessment that determines eligibility to take college-level course work. Students need to sign up on the guidance website to reserve a testing spot and fill out SWIC's New Student Form today.  Students who need to complete this process are:

                Seniors enrolling at SWIC after high school

                Students planning to take a SWIC credit course at WHS (Health Occupations Early

                                                      Bird Public Speaking or Early Bird General Psychology)

                Students wanting to enroll in the Running Start program.

Staff Sergeant Wilson, with the Marines, will be here on Friday March 20th to speak with any student that is interested in learning more about the careers the Marines offer. If you would like to speak with them please sign up on the guidance website under college visits.   

 

Athletics

Any freshman, sophomore, or junior interested in trying out for cheerleading next year should pick up a packet in the office.  Tryouts are Saturday, March 7th.
