Summer Reading & Family Fun Opportunities
As summer continues, we wanted to share a couple of opportunities available to Waterloo students and families through two of our community partners.
Morrison-Talbott Library Summer Reading Program
This year's theme is Knights of the Reading Realm: Embark on a Quest, One Book at a Time! The summer reading program encourages students to continue reading throughout the summer while participating in activities, challenges, special events, and prize opportunities. Programs are available for a variety of age groups, making this a great way to stay engaged, keep reading skills sharp, and have fun throughout the summer.
Waterloo America 250 Celebration
The City of Waterloo is hosting a community celebration on Saturday, July 4, in honor of America's 250th birthday. Activities include a festival, parade, historical demonstrations, family attractions, and a 2.50K Fun Run organized by Waterloo CUSD #5 librarian Mr. Andy Mayer. The Fun Run begins at 9:00 a.m., and participants are encouraged to show their patriotic spirit.
We hope everyone is having a wonderful summer!
