General Announcements

 Feeling cooped up and have the winter blues? We have something for you. All members of WHS clubs/Activities /Sports

are invited to join a Bowling Tournament on Sunday, February 18th from 6-8 pm.  See your coach/sponsor or Señora Koeneman for questions and registration forms. Forms are due by Feb. 13th. Space is limited.

 

Attention Saturday Scholars, don't forget to stop by room D209 to sign up on the door of whether or not you can attend the second session.  There is a waiting list. 

 

The NHS Blood Drive is Thursday, February 15th in the Secondary Gym.  If you are at least 16, weigh at least 110 pounds, and would like to help save lives, see Mr. Brueggeman in the math hallway room B210 to sign up. Please help us reach our goal of 80 usable pints from our students and staff.

 

I'm a sucker for you! The freshman class will be selling suckers for $1 during lunch and from select class representatives, February 1st through the 14th. There's over twenty flavors available! All proceeds will go to the freshman class prom fund.

 

Congratulations to the Academic Challenge team competitors.  The team was led by top place finishers: Josh Gerfen (1st biology), Justin Witt (1st biology), Gavin Littlejohn (2nd chemistry), Iris Adkins (2nd chemistry, 2nd English), Luke Warden (1st engineering graphics, 2nd physics), Dylan Brewer (2nd computer science, 3rd math), Nate Charron (2nd engineering graphics).

 

Congratulations to the Waterloo Speech Team for their Regional Championship this past weekend.   Individual champions include: Derek Taylor and Kamryn Zavorka in Dramatic Duet Acting, Audrey Davis in Humorous Interpretation, Nick Bedford in Impromptu, Erica Crook in Informative Speaking, Geraldine Blanchfield in Declamation, Kamryn Zavorka in Original Comedy, Victoria Cyvas in Original Oratory, and Erica Crook in Special Occasion Speaking. The team will travel to University High School this weekend to compete for a Sectional Championship.

The Air Force ROTC will be here on Monday February 12th @ 10:30 to speak with any student interested in learning more about their ROTC scholarship program. Sign up under college visits if interested.

There will be a brief informational meeting Tuesday February 6th at 2:45pm in the cafeteria.  If you are unable to attend please contact our athletic director Mr. Gould.
