General Announcements

 Happy National FFA week! Join the celebration with our chapter by participating in the following dress-up

days: today: Rhyme without reason, and Friday go all out in blue and gold. Teachers be sure to join us for an appreciation luncheon this Friday in D108!


Attention Saturday Scholars, don't forget to stop by room D209 to sign up on the door of whether or not you can attend the fourth session.  There is a waiting list. 


Those who sold TJ's pizza; pick up will be Feb 23rd right after school in the secondary gym.  If you cannot make it, please see Mrs. Goeddel in D118.


The winter assembly is tomorrow. If you haven't signed up yet for spirit games, please do so ASAP. the poster is right outside the cafeteria (taped to the display case by the money drop box).

We need 4 guys/ 4 gals per class for Dodgeball teams, 8 people per class for the hula hoop relay race, and dancers for the dance off.

FAFSA COMPLETION NIGHT AT WHS - The State of Illinois has made it mandatory that all seniors fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form, regardless of their after school plans.  FAFSA IS NOW AVAILABLE AND CAN BE FILLED OUT! To help with this process, WHS will be offering a FAFSA Completion Night for seniors and their parents on Thursday, February 22, 2024 from 6:30-8:30pm in the cafeteria. Go to

ST. LOUIS METRO EAST COLLEGE FAIR:  The Illinois Association for College Admission Counseling is hosting a College Fair at Southwestern Illinois College (Belleville Campus, Varsity Gym) on Sunday, February 25, 2024 from 1:00-3:00pm.  Dozens of in-state and out-of-state colleges and universities will be attending.  Students and parents will learn about admission requirements, academic programs, transfer planning, and financial aid.   Sophomores through seniors are encouraged to attend.  Go to www.swic.edu/college-fair for info. and college listings.  Students must register with www.strivefair.com to get a free bar code to present to colleges.




Boys' tennis tryouts will begin on Monday, February 26th at the tennis courts.

Tryouts will last from 3 to 5:30 pm and you must have a current school physical in order to tryout.
