Last week, we recognized the WJHS students pictured here as recipients of the Bulldog Trait of the Month for September. All month we talked about the importance of being OPTIMISTIC, and staff members nominated these students for showing that trait. Choosing to look for the good in things and keeping a positive outlook when challenges arise are two key ways that our students can practice optimism, which is an important part of being a resilient person. Congrats to these WJHS students on their award!

The 1st quarter Service Project for WJHS is a donation drive for items for local nursing home residents. In addition to coloring cards for residents, we're having a friendly competition between study hall classes to see who donates the most personal hygiene, entertainment, and snack items from our list. Students can turn items in to their study hall teachers through Sept. 30. Thanks for helping us show support to others in our community!

Congrats to Deb Eichholz for being nominated as the WJHS Staff Member of the Month. Mrs. Eichholz is a paraprofessional who works with sixth and eighth grade students. She shows flexibility, patience, and kindness while working with students and staff alike, and anticipates what needs to be done and does it with a smile. We are very fortunate to have her at WJHS!

You suggested, we listened! We have a new cabinet located between the doors at the CIRCLE DRIVE at WJHS that will be used for homework requests for absent students. Work will not be placed in the cabinet until 3pm each day, but will be available for pick-up all evening long. Just raise the red switch on the bottom right to open the cabinet. Students' work will be stacked and clipped together with their name on the top sheet.

The WJHS baseball season recently kicked off with a special celebration of some amazingly dedicated local coaches. WJHS Coach Mark Vogel and SPPCS Coach Jim Helfrich have a combined total of over 60 years of dedication to youth baseball in our area! Good morning!
As a reminder, supply drop & schedule walks will be Wednesday, August 7 (last names A-K) and Thursday, August 8 (last names L-Z) from 6:00-7:30. Administrators will meet briefly with 6th graders and new students and their families in the cafeteria at the beginning of the evening. Otherwise, you may come and go as you please!
To avoid standing in line for a schedule when you arrive, please print off a copy of your child’s schedule before you come. Your child’s locker number will not appear on the schedule that you print, but can be found on Skyward under the student information tab. Schedules and maps of the building will be located on the table at the main entrance for those that need them. You may park in the lot behind the main gym, in the parking lot across from the north building, or in front of the school, but should enter at the main entrance.
Also, we have sent out an email to all guardians that includes a short presentation with key information for all parents and students to know as the year begins. Please check your email for access to that information!
We look forward to seeing you soon!
