Sue Paulissen and Mary Ann Kreinberg have been not only co-workers and mentors, but friends to many. On May 25th, we had the pleasure of honoring these two wonderful teachers in person, after their retirement last year. We look forward to having them substitute in the building and continue to be part of WJHS for years to come!

Help us congratulate Kristin Smith on finishing in 5th place at the IL Junior High Elite Track & Field Meet in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:01.36. This time secures the school record in the 400. Great job Kristin!

WJHS Girls Basketball open gyms will be Tuesday and Friday mornings 930-11am in the South Gym at the JH. These will run from June 1st - July 2nd. There is no separate girls basketball "camp" this summer. All incoming 6th-8th grade girls interested in playing basketball this fall are welcome to attend. This morning, we were happy to recognize six of our fabulous 8th grade students. The following awards are given out by local organizations and voted on by the 8th grade team of teachers. We wish all 8th grade students the best of luck as they enter high school. We truly will miss them, but can't wait to see all they accomplish! WJHS Families - This is a friendly reminder to please bring school-issued Chromebooks AND chargers to school today to be returned.

WJHS Families, If your student checked out a Chromebook from school, please remember to send it tomorrow morning, along with the charger. These will be collected at the end of the day. Remote Students - please bring any checked out supplies, including Chromebooks, to school tomorrow or Monday. The office is open until 4pm each day.

We have a state champion! Reese Kite won the SIJHSAA state golf tournament today with a score of 71. She finished 9 strokes ahead of second. Way to dominate and play a great round, Reese!

Today we recognized our May Staff Member of the Month, Mrs. Gabel. Mrs. Gabel is our social worker from Perandoe. She develops great relationships with our students, stays in contact with parents, and is always willing to jump in when we need her! Thank you for all you do at WJHS and Gardner, Mrs. Gabel!

Congratulations to the girls track & field team on their Regional Championship yesterday! The boys also did well, placing 3rd. Great job Bulldogs!

Tomorrow is the last day to order a WJHS yearbook for $30.  After then, the price will be $35.  The last and final day to order a yearbook is Friday, May 21st.  Pick up a yearbook order form in the front lobby or order online below. Congratulations to our April Staff Member of the Month, Mrs. Schwehr. Mrs. Schwehr is dedicated to promoting physical fitness with our girls. Her hard work extends to track where she is extremely organized with all practices and meets. In addition, she has coordinated our Kids Heart Challenge each year where we are top 10 in the nation!

Good evening WJHS families! Spring break begins tomorrow, April 1st and lasts through Monday, April 5th. We will see all students back on Tuesday, April 6th. Please take some time to check Skyward and make sure all assignments are completed. This extended break is a great time to make sure students are staying caught up for 4th quarter. Remember to charge your devices over the long break . Enjoy your time together and we look forward to seeing everyone back Tuesday!

Today we recognized Aaron Luttman and Ava Rau for receiving the Illinois Principal Association's award for being outstanding students and school citizens. Great job Aaron and Ava!! Thank you for leading by example at WJHS!

Our March Staff Member of the Month is Stacy Davis! Nurse Stacy has been a crucial staff member as we have transitioned back to in-person learning. She has done a fantastic job communicating with parents and checking students for symptoms during the pandemic. In addition, Nurse Stacy takes amazing care of our students with daily medical needs. We are lucky to have Stacy at WJHS!
