7th and 8th grade supply drop/schedule walk will be Monday, August 14 from 6:30-8:00. To save yourself some time, please print off a copy of your child’s schedule prior to Monday evening. Your child’s locker number will not appear on the schedule that you print. I suggest that you write their locker number on the printed schedule (you can find this on the student information tab). We will have extra schedules printed for all students if you need one. These schedules and maps of the building will be located on the table at the main entrance. You may park behind the main gym, in the parking lot across from the north building or anywhere you can find a parking spot in front of the school.
We look forward to seeing you soon!

Good afternoon WJHS families. This is just a reminder that we will be hosting 6th grade orientation tomorrow evening for parents and students from 6:00-6:30 in the South Gym. Following orientation, students and parents will have opportunities to find lockers and drop off school supplies. Students may then walk schedules until 8:00.
Please bring a printed copy of your child’s schedule from Skyward if possible. When you print the schedule, the locker number will not be visible. I suggest that you look the locker number up in Student Information and write it on your child’s schedule. We will have copies of schedules if you need one; however, the line to get one could be lengthy.

Lily Starek, who just finished 8th grade at WJHS, recently won a writing competition! In coordination with Mrs. Clinebell's Science class, Lily competed in the research paper division of the "Water's Worth It" campaign hosted by the Central States Water Environment Association. As a result of her research and well-cited writing, Lily won the Southern Illinois regional competition and now advances to compete at the state level. Her research focused on the Clean Water Act, one of the first big US environmental laws, enacted in 1972 to restore and protect United States waters. In addition to other prizes, her essay and photo will also be published in the summer edition of Central States Water Magazine. Congrats, Lily! We are proud of your accomplishment!
